Edition 10 August 2005

11/08/2005

If you have ever been involved in or contemplated setting up a medical services programme, you will know that ensuring it complies with the ABPI code can be somewhat of a challenge. Joan Barnards article on Audits and Switches outlines some of the potential pitfalls and makes some best practice recommendations that are a must read for anyone whose organisation is running, or intends to run, such a programme. Joan will be talking about working within the code at one of the PSMG meetings next year. If you would like to find out more about this and other areas of code controversy visit www.psmg.info for details of future PSMG meetings. On a more philanthropic note, the PSMG make an annual donation to a chosen charity. The picture shows Cliff Dymond presenting a cheque for £1000 on behalf of the PSMG to Malcolm Smith of Dreamflight, the PSMGs 2004 charity. In 2005 we are sponsoring Macmillan Cancer Relief.
